It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our good friend Colin Williams on Monday 25th January.
Colin, a member of Gwynfa for well over 25 years, was a lovely chap who was greatly liked by everyone. He was a generous, friendly man with a sparkling wit and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
He was also one of the most successful photographers in the history of the camera club. As well as numerous monthly competition wins and salon acceptances he also won the following major club awards:
- The Brian Jordan Award
- The Presidents Trophy
- The Freespirit Images Shield (twice)
- The Jim Davis Trophy (three times)
- Winner of Winners
- Photographer of the Year (twice)
The first of these successes came in 1993 with the Jim Davis Trophy and the most recent was in 2008 when he won the Freespirit Images Shield for the second time.
Our thoughts are with Glenys and the family at this sad time.
